Tomas Condon's Red Junglefowl Aviaries

Inside the main building is draft proof with windows for light and high perches of old tree branches for roosting.

Here is a new addition to one of my aviaries. The new area is 16 feet wide by 25 feet in length. The existing area was an "L" shape pen that was just over one hundred square feet.

A close up photograph looking into part of the new aviary. This chain link fence has since been lined with 1" chicken wire to prevent wild birds and rodents from entering, and young birds from escaping.

A photograph looking into part of the existing red junglefowl pen. Note that the ground has been covered with sand and a few plants, rocks and branches have been added. In the peak growing seasons these aviaries are full of plants.

This is one of my male rjf before darting into the cover of the plants. This was during the start of his eclipse molt in June.

Here is the main aviary in the summertime. It gets so thick with vegetation it is very difficult to even view the birds.

This is a close up of the rotting log that the female nested under in 2006. Unfortunately all the effort was wasted since she failed to lay even a single egg.

The red junglefowl created several narrow paths throughout the aviary. By concealing myself at the end of one trail I was able to snap this shot. The female has just seen me and alerted the male a few paces behind.
